Something huge is about to happen. How soon? I don’t know. How exactly? I don’t know either. It could be a war that starts in Asia, or Africa or Middle-East. Or it could be (not so) slow eradication of our freedoms and rights to choose and speak and protest.
Now, hear me out — I am not crazy, I believe pandemic is real, I believe in vaccinations (and will get COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible, by legal means of course), I believe the Earth is round, I believe QAnon are “useful idiots” for Russia, I believe that Epstein didn’t kill himself, I believe there is life outside of Earth (if sentient? I in equal measure hope so and am afraid of that possibility), I believe that organized religion is the biggest scam ever — so in a nutshell, I am just a normal guy.
I see that under the cover of pandemic China has been stocking up on everything. As someone working in a supply chain I see that every day and more and more European companies fuck up European clients and sell everything they can make to China with a huge mark up. China doesn’t question those prices and buys all the stock. Stockholders are ecstatic…. We as local clients not so much and when very soon all prices will go up, we will suffer.
Are those preparations for war? To be ready with full stocks when Chinese army attacks somebody and China becomes isolated? (attack Taiwan? India? could be Russia you know). Or is it just to fuck up supply chains everywhere, just to show who is the boss? I don’t know and will not know until it happens.
Another issue I see right now is something that more and more governments across the globe are doing — it’s the push for more handouts to the general population. Direct payments like help to those affected by pandemic, like UK government is doing when it pays 80% of wages to people just for them to stay at home. Or Polish government paying parents 500pln per each child under the age of 18, no questions asked. Or more attempts to implement a “universal basic income”, which is a great idea in theory. In reality — it will be a government and their agents deciding if you deserve it. And if you do something like criticizing them, or have a different opinion they will be able simply stop it. Now, everybody likes free money, and it is easy to become an unthinking, unquestioning drone just to stay on the safe side and for the money to keep flowing.
I am not an economist and have no idea how will it affect the economy and employment. All I know, in this way whole societies will be controlled and kept at bay from any protests and that it will be very easy to become completely dependent on the government and their handouts without even knowing when and how it happened. I am afraid I will live to see it.
