Home away from home
July 7th
I am so very lucky to have a place away from home where I always feel welcome, where I feel comfortable and safe, and where I feel natural enjoyment of everyday life. I visit this place every couple of months, and for years it was always my starting point on my summer road trip. It is a warm home with a warm and affectionate and caring hostess, and I can easily call it my second home. I already know the neighbors in this small community, and I recognize salespersons in local stores. I know the traffic patterns and some unofficial shortcuts that locals are using, but Google Maps doesn’t know about them. Even though I am a visitor here, I feel like I belong. And many times I thought that I see myself living here. Permanently living here. Do I dare to even entertain this thought?
And the place itself is a small village, just outside a major and historical city, well-connected with the rest of the country and Europe by highways. The small village still keeps its rural and rustic charm, but with all the affluent conveniences I want for my comfortable living. I feel so good and happy here. This is a special place for me, full of good memories and current contentment. Full of good people and good vibes. I feel safe and familiar and like I am a part of this small community here. I feel very happy, is what I am saying.
