footsteps of the Furies

As someone who works in logistics I can tell you I don’t need that shit. I have enough work and enough problems as it is. And now this — a Suez Canal is blocked. At work, we already know of a couple of ships that are waiting in a queue to get to the Mediterranean and Europe with our very important containers. Other ships with our containers that are in the Indian Ocean will most likely have to go around Africa — and that will add at least a week to expected delivery dates. In conclusion, our precarious situation with shipments needed for production becomes even more dire.

Now, what and why that happened. I am no marine navigation specialist, but I do have some theories.

  • Gross incompetence. That seems the most likely explanation. I mean, it was supposed to be a freak wind gust coupled with engine problems on that ship that pushed it onto a sandbank— but I don’t quite believe it. There is a reason why ships passing through the Suez Canal have to have experienced pilots guiding those ships. Also, with hundreds of ships going through the Canal every day there had to be a procedure to avoid a situation like that. Of course, we humans are for the most part very stupid, and I cannot rule out a situation where an incompetent chancer become a pilot there, there was a lack of communication and that happened.
  • Another explanation is that this is a part of a geopolitical warfare by China against (in this particular case) the EU. It’s not very difficult for an intelligence agency to hack in to onboard computers, distort a GPS signal or something like that and run the ship aground. Recently the EU and other countries were becoming more vocal against tyrannical and genocidal CCP regime and that might be a counter punch from China — you better watch your mouth, or we can disrupt your economy to a tune of billions of euros a day.

On the subject of China — I still believe that they are preparing for war. I guess the first strike will be at Taiwan and afterwards? who knows — could be an annexation of North Korea or a land grab against India. I mean, there has to be a reason why China is buying everything and stocking their warehouses with resins and grains and everything in between. It’s like they expect that for several years they won’t be able to do normal trade and CCP wants to be prepared. If and when that happens — we in Europe (and North America) will be screwed for a while. I will come back stronger from that where all outsourced industries will come back from China but for several years I expect a deep, global crisis. And that can only help a strong-hand, nationalistic, xenophobic movements and political parties in the Western World even more. And that will destabilize our way of living to like it was in the 1930s…..
