footsteps of the Furies

That was an entertaining and fun book. Fun and entertainment is needed once in a while for reading. Just something to keep mind occupied on an easy and pleasant space opera. I much more prefer a hard sci-fi but that usually requires more intellectual involvement and more time, and there is nothing wrong with a space political intrigue, with alien remnants creating a hive mind from human planet explorers and a rogue Murderbot and sarcastic spaceship AI trying to save their humans.

I feel that I need to read this kind of books more often. I found that a lot of days recently I am too tired in the evenings to concentrate on something serious, be it a fiction or non-fiction. Reading a well written, easy flowing novel is much better than watching stupid videos on YouTube or refreshing Reddit once again to find some entertainment without needing to think.

Some occasional mindless fun and me downtime is very important to have. But it cannot be my go-to thing to do when I am tired or angry. I feel that I already do a lot in my sober life. I do a lot with my life, things that I wouldn’t even expect I can do for prolonged periods of time (like writing this blog or learning Spanish). Soon weather will be conducive for spending time outdoors, either on my bike or exploring local nature. That will be another thing on my schedule. And I need to keep in mind that I cannot overextend myself and get tired too much and too often. So a plan is needed, where I can still do things that give me pleasure and help me grow as a person. A plan where I also will have time to relax even while reading. And books like that are needed and necessary for it. And I enjoyed the Murderbot series by Martha Wells and I am looking for future books from her.
