Three years ago, Frank the dog, came to my home and after the first moment, I already knew that it will be his forever home. He was found in the forest by a woman walking her dogs, he was tied to a tree… She took him home but since she already had other dogs and cats she couldn’t keep him. Before taking him to an animal shelter, she put an ad on FB about looking for a home for this dog. My brother saw it, let me know and we picked him up and I took him home. Frank was obviously scared, distrustful of anything and anybody — no surprise after how he was treated by his previous scum of the owners. It took him about a week to feel comfortable, to eat normally, and to show affection to me and others. It took him a little longer to accept my cat (and my cat hasn’t really accepted him yet — but it is understandable — my cat just about tolerates me and anybody else).

Frank is now about four years old but still has a lot of puppy qualities in him. He is just a lovable goofball who wants to play and be close to people and to have his belly scratched. He already has several good dog friends in the neighborhood but also some dogs that he hates for no reason. He has a big yard where he runs and chases squirrels but still loves walks. We go for a walk every day and his enthusiasm for walking is so amazing that even I don’t mind walking the same streets either in snow or rain or wind. It goes without saying that I love him and want him to have a good, warm and safe place to live. And his affection and love helped me as well in my recovery and turning my life around. Mutual love and support without any “if” or “buts” is just so pure and amazing.
