Obey!

There is no rationality in the probability that eventually the human race will destroy civilization by being obedient customers. It is a fact that while we live technically in the AI Age, the majority of humans — especially those in positions of power — still live emotionally in the Stone Age. Our sciences, natural or technological or applied, are on par with the calendar that shows the 21st Century and they grow each year on an easy-to-predict development curve. On the other hand, most of our ideas about politics, the state, religion, and society lag way behind the constant developments of the technocratic age — there were interesting theories and even movements to rectify that, but they were met with hostility and anger.

If (or rather when) humankind commits suicide, it will be because of the majority of people who decide to obey orders given by leaders — and their lackeys in the media. To obey the archaic passions of fear and hate and greed. To obey obsolete cliches of state sovereignity and national history and national mythology. Those who would dare to disobey will be met by force — either explicitly by a heavy hand of the government, or (as is common in Western societies) implicitly by subtle methods of persuasion and shame and humiliation. That implicit method can be more severe than any physical punishment, since governments working in unison with the media can create a narrative that is an outright lie, but none will dare to question it — unless ready to be destroyed in character as a human being.

Here I wanted to say a few words about the ongoing Israel-Palestine war, but I thought better of it. The narrative is set and eagerly defended by cruel and rabid hypocrites or brainwashed drones. There is no room for discussion or perspective, only for hysterical rhetoric and bloodlust.
