Hey bro, you good?

Yeah, I am good. Trying to keep my head up you know.

Yeah, I am staying at grandma’s in that small room in the attic. You know, where we slept when we was kids.

No, grandma is fine, I help her with shopping and things around the house. We watch TV together in the evenings, but she goes to bed before 9, and you know, I kinda have nothing to do after that.

Yeah, I got the job, but you know, work a couple of days then wait for something new to show up.

Yeah, the guy pays on time, but you know, I got my debts.

Yeah, I pay child support now, you know she didn’t have to go to the court, I would always find the way to pay for the kid. You know I love my princess and now the ex doesn’t want me to see her anymore. She says maybe next month.

Yeah, 3 years in jail and now they take half of my paycheck. But I don’t mind, you know, it’s for the kid. And I already bought a coloring book for her and I put some money away to buy her candy when I see her.

Yeah, I try to save to get a room somewhere for myself, but you know…there is not much to save from.

No, I don’t see anybody from old crew no more, you know, staying out of the trouble.

You know, I pulled out our old bench and the weights from the basement, yeah, those that we made ourselves when we was kids.

Yeah, trying to do something not to think too much, you know.

Got nobody to talk to now except for the grandma and you, and you know… I don’t always have money to get more minutes for my cell.

Yeah, yeah I know you busy, so I don’t call often.

No, no problem, you let me know when I can talk to you.

You know, I wish so much we could meet somewhere, you know, here at grandma’s, in the garden, maybe. We could talk, or not talk, you know, just sit there together like when we was kids. I miss you so much, bro. You know that.
