Q and A
February 25th
Q: What is going on? In the world, and especially a couple of hundred kilometers from where I live.
A: I don’t know, except some people are killing other people for reasons unknown.
Q: What will happen?
A: I don’t know.
Q: Do I have any thoughts and predictions?
A: None whatsoever except for one — a lot of innocent people will be hurt, and the perpetrators will not be punished.
Q: Is it any different from other wars?
A: No, it is not.
Q: Do I really think that war can spill over and engulf other countries, including mine?
A: Yes, even if not at this particular moment, I fully expect to see and suffer from a war firsthand in my lifetime.
Q: What do I think about Putin?
A: A deeply insecure shit stain and genuine psychopath.
Q: What do I think about NATO and the EU?
A: An appeasement central.
Q: Really? Do I question the significance of international organizations opposing Putin?
A: Yes, now I do.
Q: Now?
A: Yes — I see a lot of posturing and words, and a lack of knowledge of history.
Q: But only now? Haven’t I seen it before with other wars?
A: Yes, I have. But those wars were somewhere else, far away from me and my mind.
Q: Am I a hypocrite?
A: Obviously.
Q: Ok, let’s leave it for the next therapy session and go back to Putin. Why is he in a position to actually start a war?
A: Years of concessions and conciliation from the West, based on demand for natural resources that Russia has and can sell.
Q: So, that dependency from West isn’t something new? Was it all eventually going to happen? Why there was no action taken to prevent it?
A: It isn’t, yes, and it’s because of shareholders.
Q: What about shareholders?
A: Every western democratic country exists now as a protector of corporations and their interest and their shareholders, who need to see increased growth in their portfolio every year. Investing in something new is costly, and the return on money is needed NOW! Future generations can go to hell. Current generations too. It is all about money, money, and more money now!
Q: Ok, easy now, that is a whole other subject. Let’s go back to the current situation. Am I prepared?
A: Prepared for what? To take a moral stand? Sure — it doesn’t cost me anything and there is no risk involved.
Q: No, prepared for the eventuality of an actually prolonged European war.
A: Well, there might be some inconveniences — shortages of this and that, breaks in a supply chain, the constant barrage of pictures of dead bodies, and people who suffer from the war located across the border.
Q: Again, am I prepared for the eventuality of a war right where I live?
A: No — I am not prepared for it, I don’t hoard goods and hide my money or valuables, and I don’t intend to. But yes as well — I can leave my home in 30 seconds with my wallet, passports, some cash and call phone. I am an excellent walker and can try to walk to safety if need be.
Q: Do I think that the need will be?
A: It might be, yes.
Q: Anything else?
A: I am tired of stupidity and cruelty and shortsightedness and lack of perception and greed and wanton violence and suffering and empty words and constant dick-waving and me having no control over any of this.
Q: Go to bed. That is not a question, but a strong recommendation.
