Soul
April 2nd
I wonder why those who, usually loudly, proclaim their faith in some god or some kind of religious dogma forget one important thing. They forget about their souls. They forget that their souls are theirs only temporally. Their souls are only a rental from their god/gods as a driver to the mortal body for a duration of earthly being. There will come a time that their souls will be called in for a return. And their souls will be checked very carefully for the condition they are being returned. The users will have to give an account of their use and misuse of their souls. And the penalty for damaged or crooked or spoiled and especially never used souls will be eternal damnation — either in hell or back in reincarnation on this planet (depending on religion, of course).
Souls are complex creations. They can sustain a person in the direst and most hopeless situation. Also, they can be defied and desecrated easily — usually by hurting others. They are so delicate that most of the time we are not even aware that we have them at all. We are not aware that they continuously operate in us. Giving us sustenance in the drudgery and miasma of everyday life. Keeping the spark of creativity and altruism and heroism and sacrifice going, ready to turn it into a flame given the right circumstances. Getting more robust with every good deed, wilting with every cruel word and action.
Souls can be rebuilt. Souls are resilient. Souls can be made anew. Even those most damaged and shivered souls can renew themselves back into strong and precious souls again. Of course, that takes a lot of hard work. A lot of unpleasant work to achieve that. And it always starts with the reassessment of oneself. It starts with the realization that in my current life and my current actions I am hurting others, and I am hurting myself. The realization that I am damaging my soul and the souls of others. And the recognition THAT I DON’T WANT TO DO IT ANYMORE!
That is the start of the process of renewal and nurturing the soul back to health. A small step, but absolutely necessary for this task to proceed. And if you don’t believe me, all you have to do is to look at me. I know that when called to give a recount of my life, I will no longer present a failed soul that is bound for perdition.
