The usefulness of the lunacy of Elon Musk

Disclaimer — for several years from 2017, Twitter was a huge part of my life. I was posting and reposting all day and night, got about 1200 followers, and was able to directly talk to important and famous people on the platform, which led to some face-to-face meetings with local politicians and celebrities. And then, in 2019, I quit Twitter. Just quit cold turkey after I realized that I am getting sucked in the cesspool of garbage and violence and idiocy.

I wonder how top-notch economists and billionaires can look at themselves in the mirror. They studied and studied and worked hard to make money based on their (mostly logical) decisions. And then comes Elon Musk. An idiot and moron and hypocrite and racist fuck and proud alt-right enabler and just a thick and arrogant twat. And he becomes the richest person in the world who can piss off the 44 billion dollars he spent on Twitter and ruin the platform and the brand in a couple of months. What the hell…

But for all the idiocy and lunacy that surrounds him — he can be very useful. For history and sociology teachers and students, that is. Here he is — an example of what happens with unchecked power that comes from the endless supply of money. If you ever wondered how leaders, kings, popes, commissaries, and various lords and people in power could make mistakes that ruined whole nations or set them backward for centuries without so much as a second thought about consequences, wonder no more. Just look at the way Elon Musk behaves — no matter what he says, no matter how stupid or ruinous, there is no one to say no or wait a minute to him. Those who surround him, the yes men and women, do it either for personal gain — debasing (or whoring) themselves for good pay — which I can understand. But there are those who support and defend each word and action of Musk because they truly believe him to be a second coming — and that is scary. But, this is also an explanation that, throughout history, idiocy on display could happen because there were always those who believed in the lunacy of a leader and would follow them no matter the ruin of personal values or even life. It is happening right now in front of our eyes and it is truly a pathetic and sickening sight.
